Reba Lucille (Looney) Aldridge, 94, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 7:04 p.m.
Chapel Ridge Health and Rehab Center has been her home for the past 13 years. While living there she was faithful to attend worship services and the religious music services. She also enjoyed playing bingo with the other residents.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Golda Looney of Charleston, Arkansas; her loving husband of 66 years, Ralph T. Aldridge; one son, Larry Aldridge; a grandson, Andrew Aldridge; a granddaughter, Liza Deshia Walters; a brother, Roy Looney of Charleston.
Reba was a kind, faithful,and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was most important in her life. In her later life, she worked and retired after 25 years as a nursing aid and medical clerk with Armour Heights Nursing Center. For the past 13 years, she was cared for by her daughter and a loving daughter-in-law and granddaughter, plus all the staff of the Chapel Ridge Health and Rehab.
She was born in the Potts Community, just southeast of Charleston, where she attended elementary school and church. She later attended Charleston High School. She and her family were faithful members for many years at the Potts Free Will Baptist Church. After moving to Fort Smith, they attended and were members of the Walnut Street Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School with her children. She was also a member of the Ladies Quilting Group. In later years and upon her death, she was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Reba was a wonderful cook, and loved to sew. Her favorite past times were reading and studying the Bible.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 11th at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Potts Cemetery, southeast of Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharla Lau and husband Larry of Fort Smith; one son, Jerry Aldridge and wife Barbara of Fort Smith; two sisters, Ruby (Looney) Womack of Charleston and Vera Lee (Looney) Johnson of Merced, California; one brother, Afton Looney of Charleston; two grandchildren, Gina Aldridge Williams of Ft. Smith and Jody Aldridge of Wylie, Texas and one great grandchild, Bailey Deshea Williams of Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be her grandson Jody Aldridge and nephews Leroy, Brian, and Bruce Womack, and Gary and Jason Looney.
Family will visit with friends 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
