Randy Guy Buckner, better known as "Buckwheat" of Paris, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 15, 1961, in Ozark, Arkansas, to the late Guy C. Buckner and Caroline Corina (O'Bar) Buckner. He was 64 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Jessica Varnell; and two nephews, Cevin Mantooth and Casey Thomas.
Randy was a 1980 graduate of County Line High School and spent his life doing what he loved most. His love for the open road gave him the opportunity to see the world out of the window for over 40 years as a truck driver. He spent the majority of his work career driving for Master Made Tanks, Inc. in Carbon City, who was more like a family than an employer. Through out his over 5 million plus miles of driving he was known for his strong work ethic, unmatched dependability, and the camaraderie he shared with his fellow drivers. When he wasn't behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler, Randy was a devoted family man. He loved spending his time hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and most of all, sharing Jesus. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his smile, and his willingness to help anyone he met. Randy was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23rd at First Assembly of God Church in Paris, with Pastor Darren Overton and Bro. Bill Culver officiating. Burial will follow at Carpenter Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
