Pierre Meador, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born on January 21, 1942, in Mena, Arkansas, to the late George Meador and Delta (Myers) Meador. He was 80 years old. Pierre was born as part of a set of triplets and was preceded in death by his triplet sister, Patricia House; a son, Tony Meador; two other sisters, Joyce Mussick and Gerri Glover; three brothers, Bud Meador, G.W. Meador, and Gerald Meador; and Lyla Schmalz, whom he considered his daughter and loved very much.
Pierre was a retired postmaster for the USPS and was an U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Nancy Flanagan of Charleston; a daughter, Tonya Talkington and husband George of Charleston; a son, Parker Meador and wife Sharon of Charleston; two daughters, whom he considered his and loved as his own, Libby (Schmalz) Cleavenger and husband Don of Charleston and Lee (Schmalz) Buckner and husband William of Charleston; his triplet brother, Parker Meador of Wickes, Arkansas, his brother, Bill Meador, also of Wickes, and Harry Meador of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister, Sybil Jones of Wickes; and seven grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ellason, Jesse, and Jordan Meador, Molly and Adam Sneed, and Warren Pillstrom.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Hampton Cemetery, located north of Branch.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charleston Animal Shelter, Maggie House in Charleston, or to Cecil United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Della Holden in Cecil, Arkansas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
