Obituary

Phyllis Jean Oldridge of Charleston, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on October 22, 1948, at Bollinger Hospital in Charleston to the late Cornelius Raymond Smith and Billie Jean (Simmons) Smith. She was 75 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Stanley Smith.

Phyllis graduated high school in Kennewick, Washington. For several years, Phyllis was a LPN and retired a Home Health Nurse. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.

Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Kenny Stengel officiating. The family will visit with friends following the rosary service.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Norman McFall officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her son, Ryan Oldridge and wife Alison of Charleston; two sisters, Patricia Stengel and husband Kenny of Ratcliff and Jeanne Ramsey and husband Terry of Ratcliff; two brothers, James Smith and wife Donna of Barling and Donald Smith and wife Julie Rochester-Smith of Charleston; three granddaughters, Peyton Wilson and husband Garrett, Raegan Oldridge and fiance' Joe Huck, and Macie Oldridge and fiance' Ransom Merechka; and one great-granddaughter on the way, Harper Ryan Wilson.

Pallbearers are Garrett Wilson, Joe Huck, Ransom Merechka, Adam Stengel, Carl Stengel, and Matthew Stengel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenhurst Family Council in Charleston.
