Phillip Lee Goins Hurt of Van Buren, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born on October 27, 1959, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to the late Orville Goins and Carolyn Joan Smith. He was 61 years, 11 months, and 15 days old. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Asher Hoffman.

Phillip was a 1978 graduate of Spiro High School in Spiro, Oklahoma, and he attended Kibler Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, JoAnn (Caffrey) Hurt; his sons, Michael Wayne Caffrey of Van Buren, Gregg Edward Hoffman, Jr. and wife Tonya of Fort Smith, Brian Alan Hoffman of Tampa, Florida, and Joel Caffrey Hurt of the home; his step-mother, Bettye Goins of Poteau, Oklahoma; his step-father, Danny Hurt of Oxford, Alabama; two brothers, Chris Hurt and wife Kelly of Oxford, Alabama, and Beau Goins and wife Stephanie of Hackett; his grandchildren, David-Ray Caffrey, Sammy Caffrey, Jamie Schuster, Brice Hoffman, Elijah Hoffman, and Benjamin Hoffman.
