Obituary

Phillip Allan "Phil" Beshoner, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his home.  He was born March 4, 1954 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Albert Ambrose Beshoner and Virginia Rose (Cotton) Beshoner.  He was 64 years old.

Phil served the City of Lavaca as Police Chief prior to his retirement.  He was a member of the Lavaca Police Department for 17 years.  He was active in many areas of police work with the Internet Crimes Against Children Division being close to his heart.  He was a Deputy U. S. Marshall for 5 years, served on the Lavaca and Big Creek Fire Departments and was fire investigator for Big Creek. He was a 1972 graduate of Southside High School,  an avid golfer, and member of First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, Arkansas.  Phil loved his family and friends fiercely and was patriotic to the bone.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 15th, at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, with Bro. Russ Tyler officiating.  Burial will be at Lavaca City Cemetery in Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by five daughters, Chrissy Rhodes and husband Chris of Lavaca, Sara Foster and husband Jake, Katie Beshoner and Megan Beshoner, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Brandy Dobbins of Spiro, Oklahoma; one son, Christopher Beshoner of Oklahoma; two brothers, Dan Beshoner and wife Shirley of Fort Smith and Ted Beshoner and wife Kelly of Roland, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Brooklyn Jack and Rowan Foster and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Hobbs, Chris Rhodes, Lance Hobbs, Greg Williams, Harry Torres, Tommy Noel, Ted Beshoner and Dan Beshoner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jac Clunn, Danny Gann, Johnny Hobbs, Jerry Meredith, Randy Toon, members of the Lavaca Police Department and members of Big Creek Fire Department.

Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14th, at the funeral home.
