Peter Joseph Leo Ketter, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was born April 29, 1950 in Paris to the late Arthur A. Ketter and Mary C. (Kern) Ketter. He was 61 years old.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sister Annette Ketter.
Pete was a truck driver for Marrlin Trucking Company in Van Buren. He was a farmer, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a 1968 graduate of Charleston High School, an avid Charleston Tiger fan, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.
Rosary service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 11th at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Erik Pohlmeier officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, with "Military Honors" under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virgie of the home; one daughter, Andi Ketter of Charleston and fiance' Larry Mirda of Rogers; two sons, Joe Ketter and wife Sabrina of Charleston and Greg Ketter and Katie of New Castle, Delaware; two sisters, Joyce Jones and Carolyn Ketter, both of Fort Smith; one brother, Charles Ketter of Charleston; three grandsons, Colton, Noah, and Tristan.
Pallbearers will be Charles Ketter, Jr., Scott Jones, David Jones, Lance Ketter, Gabe Scribner, Paul McGuyer, David Bender, and Johnny Cearley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Family will visit with friends following the Rosary service.
