Obituary
Peggy Lynn Starr, who resided in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her loved ones. She was a cherished daughter, loving wife, a devoted mother, and she was born April 29, 1959 in Tulsa to Bobby Neil Featherston and Wanda Lee (Moore) Featherston. She was 56 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Bobby Neil Featherston.
Peggy was a wonderful free spirited woman of many great accomplishments. She had her son at a young age and worked tirelessly as a single mother for many years to provide. She went on to marry Ken Booth of Coweta, Oklahoma and they had their daughter, Kendra. Peggy was then married to Anthony Akins of Vian, Oklahoma for fifteen years. Peggy was a student of N.S.U. where she accomplished her bachelors degree and went on to O.U. to get her masters degree. She was also a licensed drug and alcohol counselor and worked for Tenkiller Behavioral Services, where she helped many people. Peggy worked for D.H.S. as a social worker. Her hobbies were traveling, beading, painting, reading, fashion, and had a passion for life.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 14th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be at McKendree Cemetery, located north of Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Wayne Akins of Vian, Oklahoma; one daughter, Kendra Marie Booth of Tulsa; one son, Daniel John Starr of Paris; her mother, Wanda Featherston of Paris; one brother, Jack Featherston of Booneville; two grandsons, Staley Neil Starr and Ethan Daniel Starr; and a granddaughter, Avalynn Faith, to be born March 5, 2016; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Newman, Danny Newman, David Cravens, Jack Featherston, and Bud Inman.
Family will visit with friends 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Paris.
