Peggy Sue Nelms of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on October 8, 1949, in Booneville, Arkansas, to the late Roy Davis and Audine (Lowe) Davis. She was 75 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Jim Nelms.

For many years, Peggy was a waitress and a cook.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9th at Shott Cemetery, located in Yell County near Danville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Bradley Nelms.

She is survived by five sons, Jamie Horton and wife Melissa of Charleston, Tony Horton and wife Shawndria of Fort Smith, Jimmy Nelms of Charleston, Christopher Nelms of Ozark, and Bradley Nelms and wife Stephanie of Hackett; three sisters, Joann Gunzenhauser of Ozark, Beverly Appleton of Charleston, and Rhonda Smothers and husband Stinger of Charleston; one brother, Roy Dean Davis and wife Pam of Lavaca; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members.
