Paul Anderson Marsden resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at his home. He was born May 15, 1987 in San Diego, California to Edward Robert Marsden and Brenda Lee (Sloan) Marsden. He was 23 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Lee Sloan.

Paul was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a student at the University of Arkansas in Fort Smith, and was of the Catholic faith.

Paul enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, and other activities with friends and family. Also, he could often be seen driving around town in his bright green Volkswagen Thing with the top down and his loyal German shepherd, Mädchen, by his side.

Graveside funeral ceremony with military honors will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19th, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, with Chaplain Scott F. Norman officiating, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his father, Edward Marsden & wife Kortney of Van Buren; one sister, Catherine Hice & husband Darren of Charleston; two brothers, Robert Marsden of Fort Smith and Andrew Marsden of Fayetteville; his paternal grandmother, Marie Marsden of Poway, California; his maternal grandmother, Jonnie Parker of Fort Smith; one nephew, Alexander Marsden and one niece, Madeline Hice; two aunts, Audrey Hornbuckle of Puyallup, Washington and Lori Drummond of San Marcos, California; one cousin, Chase Drummond of San Marcos, California.

Viewing will begin 8:00 a.m. til 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
