Paul Edward LaMotte, Jr, passed away at the age of 81, on February 28, 2024 in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was born September 15, 1942 to the late Paul E. LaMotte, Sr and Dora Ann (Wells) LaMotte.
He was a loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Paul loved classic cars, attending car shows, and traveling. In his younger years he enjoyed drag racing and had a great fondness for Studebakers. He owned many different cars throughout the years that he was very proud to own especially his Studebaker.
He was a hard worker for many years in several areas of work. He could fix anything. He retired from Phillips Exeter Academy as maintenance and custodial staff. He was loved by students and staff alike. He enjoyed the job and meeting people. He never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dennis LaMotte, and two son in laws, Joe Bascom and Jim Gutoswski, and other precious family members.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley LaMotte of Rochester, New Hampshire; his two daughters, Theresa Gutowski of Deland, Florida and Susan Bascom of Nottingham, Hew Hampshire; a son, Paul E. LaMotte, III and wife Glinda of Batesville, Arkansas; one sister, Joyce; one brother, Barry LaMotte; grandchildren, Stephen and Alicia Gutowski, Carrie Hough and husband Joe, III, Laura Bascom, Andrew Bascom and Grace Harris and husband Michael; six beautiful great-grandchildren, Abigail Hough, Joseph Hough, Rebekah Quadair, Simone Quadair, and Giovanni Quadair; many nieces and nephews; and other family members.
Paul is interred in the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston, Arkansas.
