IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patsy Ann
Parsons
March 3, 1941 – June 28, 2022
Patsy Ann Parsons of Subiaco, Arkansas, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on March 3, 1941, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Jerome Ignatius Neihouse and Julia Mae (Moore) Neihouse. She was 81 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindell Edward Parsons, a nephew, Jody Mezzaline, and a niece, Angie Wood.
Patsy was a poultry farmer and a teacher's aide at Paris High School for several years. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and women's ministry at Midway Assembly of God. She was active in the EH Club in Midway and served as an officer numerous times. She was one of the charter members of the Logan County Piecemakers Quilt Guild. She served as president several times and served on many committees, especially with the annual quilt show done in conjunction with the local festivals. Patsy attended the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas, and also the A.Q.S. (American Quilter's Society) quilt shop in Paducah, Kentucky, several times. She taught quilting classes at several quilt shops in the area and also taught classes in making quilted jackets. She also taught Thimbleberries Quilt Club for four years. She entered the Hoffman Quilt Challenge at the local guild and the International Challenge. Patsy loved teaching quilting lessons to 4-H students and high school students and always encouraged them to make quilts. She was always willing to help beginning quilters and encouraged them and would tell them, "It's your quilt, and if you're happy with it, that's all that matters." She loved to hand quilt quilts and was active with the Midway Assembly of God Quilters. Patsy continued to build her fabric stash and was always ready to get new quilting gadgets. She had an embroidering machine and loved to do embroidery. She loved making quilts and T-Shirt quilts for her family, especially for her grandsons. She also took them to quilt classes at times. She helped make many "Love Quilts" for Community Outreach during her active days in the Logan County Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Many of her quilts are owned by quilters in the area and will be treasured for many years to come. Patsy was a true and dedicated quilter and will be missed by those friends and quilters she shared that love with. Above everything else mentioned, Patsy loved her church, her church family, her family, and especially her two grandsons, Nathan and Josh. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1st at Midway Assembly of God Church, with Bro. C.L. Haston and Bro. Bob Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Horne Cemetery in Midway, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
