Odessa Jewel Frye, age 101, of Central City, Arkansas, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, in Barling, Arkansas. She was born July 2, 1916 in Paris, Arkansas to the late John L. Tucker and Lucy (Taylor) Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Alfred Frye; two grandsons, Kevin Pierce and Donnie Combs; and a son-in-law, Don Paul Combs.
Odessa retired from Riverside Furniture in Fort Smith. She was a charter member of Barling Senior Citizen Center, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church in Bloomer.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30th, at Cornerstone Free Will Baptist Church in Bloomer, with the Rev. Jimmy Cook officiating. Burial will be at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by two daughters, Vera Combs of Central City and Susan Travis and husband Newlin of Spiro, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jimmy Tucker and wife Pat of Fort Smith and John L. Tucker, Jr. of Gulf Port, Mississippi; (6) grandchildren, (16) great-grandchildren, (14) great-great-grandchildren; and(1)nephew, Harold Gene Harris.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Cain, Justin Cornell, Nathan Combs, John Paul Combs, Kevin Walters, and Parker Henry.
Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
