Nova Jean West, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away, Thursday, August 10, 2017, in Charleston. She was born November 14, 1924, in New Blaine, Arkansas to the late James Reubin Wooten and Mary Esther (McCubbin) Wooten. She was 92 years old. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 32 years and the father of her children, Edwin Morris West; a son, Wayne West; a grandson, Brent West; six sisters and four brothers.
Nova Jean was a homemaker and a cook. She loved cooking, enjoyed quilting, and she was a member of Church of Christ in Paris.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 14th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. Clark Snow officiating. Burial will be at Moore Cemetery, located east of Paris in Greasy Valley, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by five daughters, Noreen Williams of Fort Smith, Sue Koenig and husband Eddie of Subiaco, Pamela Hearod and husband Ron of Russellville, Paula Bennett and husband Gary of Hot Springs, and Carol Boyd and husband Jim of Caulksville; three sons, Jake West and wife Linda of Ozark, Dennis West and Kathy of Paris, and Roger West and wife Connie of Clarksville; one sister, Ruby McElroy of Charleston; (22) grandchildren, (34) great-grandchildren, and (5) great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a close family friend, Larry Drittler of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joshua Koenig, Chris West, Dennis Dale West, Trent West, Michael Bennett, and Jake Davison Boyd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greenhurst Nursing Center Staff and Nursing Aides, and Bud Turk.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Paris.
