Norman Grover Mitchum, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born September 3, 1942, in Bon Air, Alabama, to the late Amos Lester Mitchum and Josie Mae Ella (Haynes) Mitchum. He was 75 years old.
Norman was a retired supervisor for Tyson Foods, Inc. in Van Buren and a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will be at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lenora (Martin) Mitchum; two daughters, Lisa Accardi and husband Alan of Nashville, Tennessee and Lynn Meyers and husband Heath of Midland, Texas; one son, Allen Mitchum and wife Grace of Greenwood; three sisters, Rosie Davis of Pell City, Alabama, Pat Epperson and Sue Northcutt, both of Sylacauga, Alabama; one brother, Paul Mitchum of Alma; three grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Blake Mitchum, and Connor Mitchum.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Mitchum, Brian Martin, Darrin Martin, Jason Martin, Blake Martin, and Billy Neal.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
