Norma Jean Barnes, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born January 15, 1966, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late John Harvey Barnes, II and Anna Marie (Brown) Barnes. She was 56 years old.
Norma graduated from Paris High School with honors and continued her education in Minnesota in graduate school. After getting her degree in Marketing, she moved to Texas and became a Texas Longhorn working in the sporting events field. She then found her home at Fresno State University where she made family and friends until deciding to move back home to Arkansas. She worked at Cloyes Gear as a supervisor and then as an assistant manager at Family Dollar until becoming manager at Dollar Tree, where she left so many great friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26th at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Elder Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Gray Rock Cemetery, located north of Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by three brothers, John Barnes and wife Ella of Dardanelle, Gary Barnes of Sallisaw, and J. Rhyker Aleczander of Fayetteville; two sisters, Valerie (Robert) Collier of Paris and Beverly Barnes Wilson of Paris; three nephews, Christopher, Caleb, and John Harvey Barnes IV; one niece, LaKeidrea Barnes and fiancé Chris and daughter Illiana Marie; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved black lab dogs, Isabella and Polly Anna Marie.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Brown, David Brown, Raymond Brown, Dennis Brown, Jimmy Jones, James Collier, Dale Graham, and Robert Q. Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Parks, Qwade Hill, Drajon Graham, Caleb Barnes, Christopher Barnes, Carl Delaney, and John H. Barney.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
