Norma Jean Austin, who resided in Waldron, Arkansas, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, peacefully at her home. She was born December 14, 1970, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Charles Ray Melton and Doris Evelynn (Arnett) Melton. She was almost 46 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Ray Melton.
Norma had worked at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Booneville and was currently working for Pizza Hut in Waldron. She was a member of Birdsview Methodist Church in Waldron.
Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26th, at Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Booneville, with Bro. Roger Rice officiating. Services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, David Austin; three daughters, Dana Austin of Waldron and twin daughters, Kayla Austin and Dayla Austin of Ratcliff; one step-daughter, Kanishia Shaffer of Waldron; one step-son, Daniel Austin of Waldron; her mother, Doris Blodgett of Ratcliff; three sisters, Linda Kay Melton of Birmingham, Alabama, Nancy Gattis of Ratcliff, and Debbie Mitzner of Meeker, Oklahoma; four brothers, Steven Melton of Henryetta, Oklahoma, David Melton of Mesa, Arizona, Johnny Melton of Ratcliff, and Donnie Melton of Booneville; eight step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Melton, Mark Bell, Roger Rice, Robert Henderson, David Bell, and Steve Gattis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Oswald and Matt McCafferdy.
Family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
