Obituary

Nora Mae Milum, who resided in the Gray Rock community near Paris, Arkansas, died Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Legacy Health and Rehab Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas, She was born on May 31, 1948, in Paris to the late Sam Brown and Mary (Collier) Brown. She was 76 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Floyd Ray Barker, Jr.; four brothers, Sam Brown, Jr., Robert Brown, Virgil Brown, and Charles Brown; and four sisters, Bobbie Jones, Bernice Bates, Betty Martin and Anna Barnes.

For several years, Nora was a home-health worker and member of Poole's Temple Church of God in Christ in the Gray Rock Community. Nora enjoyed quilting, gardening, time with her grandchildren, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She always fussed when everyone left at the same time. She continued to cook family dinners until her health declined this past year.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Elder Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Gray Rock Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris. A dinner will follow after the burial at Gray Rock Community Center.

She is survived by two daughters, Cassandra Ludgood and Margaret Robinson and fiance Stevie Ellingburg, all of Fort Smith; two sons, John Barker of Fort Smith and Robert Jason Barker and wife Michelle of Springdale; four sisters, Wanda Byrd and husband Jordan, Phyllis Brown and Mary Ellingburg, all of Paris, and Margaret Williams of Charleston; five brothers, Jesse Brown of St. Louis, Missouri, Raymond Brown of Paris, Dennis Brown of Russellville, Lenard Brown of Russellville, and Earl Brown and wife Louise of Paris; (12) grandchildren, Brittany Barker, Kelsey Ludgood, Kayla Ludgood, LaShonda Norwood, Tevin Barker, Jayden Barker, Jalen Ellingberg, Talik Hutchinson, Tyrik Hutchinson, Kieli Robinson, Akira Robinson, and Sa'Nya Wells; and (10) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Brown, Jr., James Collier, Allen Milum, Richard Brown,  J Aleczander, and Vincent Byrd.

The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon.
