Nathan Woodrow "Woody" Masterson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Friday, April 3, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 23, 1954, in Roswell, New Mexico, to the late Bernard Taylor Masterson and Molly (Jones) Masterson. He was 71 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charlie Masterson; and three sisters, Stella Wullen, Beatrice Ketner, and Evelyn Torres.

Woody was a graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith. For over 30 years, Woody was a supervisor at Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith. He enjoyed welding and building things, camping, four-wheeling, and being outdoors. Woody was a member of Dora Assembly of God Church.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. Don Nye and Rev. David Stogsdill officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Cedarville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay (Nye) Masterson; three daughters, Christy Gray and husband James of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Candace Holmes of Fort Smith, and Tammy Smith of Van Buren; two sons, Shane Masterson and wife Twana of Charleston and Mike Stephenson and wife Karen of Greenwood; a sister, Margaret Ann Hudson of Roswell, New Mexico; three brothers, David Masterson and wife Rita of Roswell, New Mexico, Wesley Masterson of Oklahoma, and Benny Masterson of Cleveland, Oklahoma; (13) grandchildren; and (14) great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Mike Stephenson, Shane Masterson, James Gray, Darron Ming, Coby Smith, and Derrick Collins.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service will start at 2:00 p.m. at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.
