Nancy Gail Bates, who resided in Alma, Arkansas, died Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born on March 18, 1956, in Roland, Oklahoma, to the late Don Richard Brown, Sr. and Donna Lee (Freeman) Brown. She was 66 years old. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Ball.

For several years, Nancy worked for Malltool Plastics in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband, William Bates; two sons, Jamie (Jessica) Miller of Ozark and Troy Ball of Alma; a sister, Linda Sheffield of Barling; a brother, Don "Ricky" Brown, Jr. of Lavaca; (10) grandchildren, Alex, Chelsea, Kenny, Lexi, Sammy, Cheyenne, Troy, Braden, Brian, and Breanna; and (6) great-grandchildren.
