Obituary

Myron Avery Ricketts, Jr., who resided in Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at his home. He was born March 5, 1947, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Myron Avery Ricketts, Sr. and Hazel (Robison) Ricketts. He was 69 years old.

Myron was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. He was a United Methodist Minister, serving as pastor of numerous Methodist churches, and he was a past president and member of the Rotary Club.

A memorial celebration service will be held at the Family Life Center of the Clarksville United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. A private family graveside service (With Full Military Honors) will be held at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Ricketts; his son, Darron Dixon Ricketts of Lake Worth, Florida; his sister, Janette Furry and husband Loyal of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

It was Myron's request for no flowers but donations to a favorite ministry of the donor's choice be made in his name. He would say that ministries always need money and this was his request.
