Michael Ray Emery of Pocola, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Mercy Hospice in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on April 4, 1956, in Eldorado, Illinois, to Fred Emery and Doris (Paris) Emery. He was 68 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Emery, and a step-son, Jeffery Sides.

Mike was a retired coal miner and worked in the coal mines for 35 years. He loved woodworking, riding motorcycles, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3860 in Spiro, Oklahoma. He loved his family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Martha (Young) Emery; two daughters, Katie Cooper and husband James of Magnolia, Texas, and Stephanie Emery of Newport, Arkansas; his mother, Doris Emery of Denver, Colorado; two step-sons, Tom Sides and wife Denese of Cameron, Oklahoma, and Richard Sides of Fort Smith; a sister, Linda Emery Bravo of Denver, Colorado; (14) grandchildren; and (4) great-grandchildren.
