Melvin J. "Buzz" O'Neal, who resided in Ratcliff, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, at his home. He was born on March 10, 1930, in Helena, Montana, to the late Melvin Jay O'Neal and Rubie Churchill (Dahl) O'Neal. He was 91 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Anice Eulema (Kanady) O'Neal, a daughter, Debbie Frazier, a grandson, Keith Frazier, and two sisters.
Buzz was a retired machinist at Lou Machine and Tool Company in El Monte, California. He served in the United States Army, and he was a member of Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16th at Caulksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Bill VanMeter officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by two daughters, Denice Jessings of Ratcliff and Robin O'Neal of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Michael O'Neal and wife Jeri of Coulterville, California; a brother, Bob O'Neal of Eagle, Idaho; and one granddaughter, Valarie Frazier.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Stubblefield, John Earl Corley, Haskell Casalman, William White, Cory VanMeter, and Nolan Hawkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Mac Patterson and David Hawkins.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in Charleston.
