Maxine Jarrett of Greenwood, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Ashton Place Health & Rehab in Barling, Arkansas. She was born on January 16, 1940, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to the late Charlie Fowler and Lucy Jane (Jenkins) Fowler. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Jarrett Jackson Martin; two sisters, Louise Beard and Jo Draper; and a brother, Sonny Fowler.
Through the years, Maxine and her husband Lee Roy were business owners of several different businesses. They also were volunteers for 4-H Clubs of Arkansas, Blue Birds, Camp Fire Girls, Parent Teacher Association, National Junior Angus Association, and Arkansas Junior Angus Association. Some of their best friends was the McMahon family and the Taylor family and enjoyed being associated with Belle Point Ranch Sale. For several years, Maxine was member of the Elks Club, Lavaca First Baptist Church and currently was member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 13th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with her grandson, Jarrett Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lee Roy Jarrett; her daughter, Sonja Martin and husband Mark of Lavaca; her grandson, Jarrett Martin and wife Sarah of Greenwood; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Maxine Martin.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will visit with friends an hour prior to the service on Friday starting at 1:00 p.m.
