Obituary

Max D. Harvell, who resided in Caulksville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at his home. He was born June 16, 1930, in Logan County, Arkansas near Ratcliff, to the late G.W. Harvell and Arlie (Best) Harvell. He was 88 years old. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Harvell; a sister, Fern Houser; and a brother, Murice Harvell.

Max was a retired truck driver for Miller Drilling Company in Fort Smith. He was a 1949 graduate of Ratcliff High School, and was an U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

Graveside service, with military honors, will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28th, at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Vondal Davenport.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda (Pfeiffer) Harvell; one daughter, Carmon Crouch of Sherwood; two sons, Gary Harvell of Dardanelle and Danny Clark and wife Sharon of Caulksville; one sister, Alta Faye Coats of Plains, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kendrick Varnell, Dakota Lievsay, Mason Varnell, Justin Varnell, Charles Lievsay, Amanda Clark, and Larry Lawrence.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home in Paris.
