November 17, 1942 – October 10, 2009
He is preceded in death by his father, John Presley Adair.
Max was a retired Civil Service Ammunition Specialist for the U.S. Army Reserves, member of the 4003rd Army Reserves, member of the American Rifle Association, member of the Lawton Scubba Diving Club in Lawton, Oklahoma, was an avid bass fisherman and deer hunter and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13th at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with burial at the Oak Valley Cemetery, south of Lavaca, "With Full Military Honors" under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Adair, of the home; three daughters, Cathy Dawn Smart of North Carolina, Tracey Michelle Schossow of Mansfield and Tallie Crosswhite of Charleston; one son, Max Darrell Adair, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; his mother, Thelma Ruth Adair of Lawton, Oklahoma; one sister, Mickie Anderson of Buckhannon, West Virginia; one brother, Gary Adair of Lawton, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Ryan, A.J., Max Darrell, III, Christian, Caleb, Jesse, Dylan and Aspen and one great grandchild.
Pall Bearers will be the United States Honor Guard.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be the retired members of the 4003rd Army Reserve.
Family visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
