Carroll Maurice Green, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his home. He was born February 24, 1933, in Lavaca to the late Louie and Madge (Gantt) Green. He was 84 years old. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Rayburn Green; and one great-grandson, Alec Green.
Maurice was a retired sub-station supervisor for OG&E for 37 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, served as a deacon and member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 12th, at Lavaca First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eric Green and Rev. Gary Baxter officiating. Burial will be at Oak Valley Cemetery, located south of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia (McCorkle) Green; two daughters, Alesia Balch and husband Larry and Rebecca Gay Green, all of Lavaca; two sons, Stanley Green and wife Delisa of Alma and Brian Green and wife Maurie of Lavaca; one brother, Richard Green of Lavaca; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin Green, Cory Green, John Green, Mike Green, Dane Douglas, Cody McCorkle, Todd McCorkle, and Jeb Baldwin.
Family will visit with friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Lavaca First Baptist Church.
