Matthew Christopher Choate, departed this realm of tears, sorrow, pain, trial, tribulation, incredible beauty, joy, compassion and LOVE on August 8, 2016 in Crawford County, Arkansas, and was instantly home with his Savior Jesus Christ and our Creator God Almighty. Matthew knew with the deepest conviction in his soul that in dying we are born to eternal life. Matthew was born to Michael Gregory Choate and Debra Lynn (Posey) Choate. He was 24 years old. He was an awesome and loving soul and a talented guitarist with a beautiful voice and he was a 2010 graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ned and Mary Choate of Fort Smith and James and Joan Posey of Charleston.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with minister Brad Kidder, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, located north of Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Debra Choate of Fort Smith; his two sisters, River "Rachael" Choate of Pittsburgh, PA and AmmaLea Aikens and husband Terry of West Memphis; a nephew, Corbin Jackson and a niece, Diamond Choate of West Memphis. Additionally, Matt is survived by his paternal aunt and uncle, Kimberly Kidder and husband Brad and Kevin Choate and wife Martha of Fort Smith and his maternal aunts and uncles, Beverly Dotson and husband Mike of Bloomer, Jennifer Puckett and husband Jay of Lavaca, John Bradley Posey and wife Pam of Mountainburg, Carl Joe Posey, Phillip Posey, Joyce Lawson and husband Buddy, Emily Johnson and husband James, Leslie Fleming and husband Troy, all of Charleston, and Lawrence Posey of Van Buren; and a multitude of beloved cousins and friends. Arrividerci our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend until we join you in the world beyond of eternal glory.
Pallbearers will be Richard Newton, Jacob Talavera, Eli Lawson, J.P. Posey, Dylan Trotter, and Zachary Posey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Posey, Jr., Jamie Talavera, Bradley Posey, and Jonathon Posey.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
