Watson
January 6, 1932 – November 19, 2009
Mary Jean attended Rena School in Van Buren and St. Anne's Academy in Fort Smith. In the 1950's, she was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. In later years, she worked in the office for AMPI Milk Company, where she met Allen Earl Watson and soon after were married.
After moving to Charleston, she was very active in the South Franklin County Democratic Women's Club and worked the polls for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Earl Watson.
Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21st at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Peter Sharum O.S.B. and the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Kimes & husband Carl, of Lavaca; one son, Tommy Watson of Caulksville; one sister, Jo Ann Irvin of Uniontown, Arkansas; one grandson, T.J. Corley; two step-grandson's, Larry & Nathan Kimes and one great-grandson, Tyler Corley.
Pall Bearers will be Jim Jones, Tim Jones, Lee Watson, Johnny Irvin, Mike Franklin, John Paul Pendergrass, and Ricky Stickler.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Don Jones, Warren Watson, Lewis Beagles, Buddy Irvin, Leonard Stickler, Bob Ralston, and Bill Stamps.
Family visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
