Obituary

Mary Ann Nichols, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, in Fort Smith. She was born July 8, 1942, in Fort Smith, to the late Homer I. Nicely and Ila Melissa (Crossland) Nicely. She was 78 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Nichols, Jr.; a sister, Wanda Roberts; and three brothers, Billy Nicely, Eddie Nicely, and Pete Nicely.

Mary was a bank teller for many years at City National Bank in Fort Smith. She was a retired housekeeper at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, and was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pocola, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 26th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Carl Cheshier officiating. Burial will follow at Steep Hill Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Jones and husband Jonathan of Greenwood and Missy Littleton and husband Brian of Fort Smith; a brother, Lonnie Nicely of California; four grandchildren, Danielle Duncan, Michael Moschner, Matthew Moschner, and Destiny Littleton; five great-grandchildren, Brayden Duncan, Levi Duncan, Ryder Duncan, Kenni Grace Moschner, and Georgia Kate Moschner.

Pallbearers are Michael Moschner, Matthew Moschner, Brian Nicely, Joey Butler, Lewis Nichols, and Mark Nicely.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 25th, at the funeral home.
