Mary Ann Langston, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, formerly of Cecil, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Charleston. She was born on October 23, 1936, in Ratcliff, Arkansas, to the late Elwed Barnett and Prebble (Yarborough) Barnett. She was 85 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wayne Langston; a daughter, Terri Young; three grandsons, Dustin Langston, Brian Gack and Evan Langston; her in-laws, Janie Langston, Don Armstrong, Karen Langston, and Greg White; two brothers, Doug and Tommy; and a sister, Fern (Bunnie).
Mary dedicated her life as a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother. She was "Granny" to so many people throughout her life. Always a smile and loving hand to everyone. There was no one more loved than granny. She will definitely be remembered as the sweet angel she is now. Mary was of the Methodist faith and member of First United Methodist Church in Branch.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Mr. J.B. Turner officiating. A private family burial, with immediate family only, will follow at Berkley Cemetery in Cecil, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Langston, David Langston, and Clay Langston and wife Jessica; two daughters, Shari Armstrong and Joy Carter and husband Jay; a sister, Ada Grice; her loving grandchildren, Leslie, Grant, Stephanie, Amanda, Christopher, Natalie, Joshua, Jenni, Spencer, and Kelsey; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home.
