Mary Arthul Hobbs, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at her home. She was born June 7, 1950, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Arthul Carl Carpenter and Annabelle (Lowry) Carpenter. She was 67 years old. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Johnson.
Mary was a registered nurse at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, and she was a member of Oak Grove Community Church near Cecil.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Joe Hobbs; one daughter, Deanna Rouse and husband Mark of Fort Smith; three sons, Brian Hobbs and wife Misty of Lavaca, Chris Hobbs and wife Karen of Lavaca, and Brad Hobbs and wife Tonia of Greenwood; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, Bill Baker, Kenny Hobbs, David Lumpkin, and David Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
