Mary Ellen Bennett of Hackett, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on December 10, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Sylvester O. Hermeyer and Jean C. (Cassidy) Hermeyer. She was 76 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Bennett.

Mary worked for Shipley Bakery in Fort Smith for several years and she was also a certified public accountant.

She is survived by a son, Craig Wallace; a step-son, Charles Bennett of Euless, Texas; two brothers, Maurice Hermeyer and David Hermeyer.
