Obituary

Marvin Gibson, who resided near Caulksville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at his home. He was born June 2, 1932 in Minden, Louisiana to the late Herbert Andrew Gibson and Gladys Belle (Shively) Gibson. He was almost 84 years old. He was also preceded in death by five brothers.

Marvin was a retired machinist for Baldor Electric Company in Fort Smith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and he was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Paris.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Brad Stovall, the Rev. Rusty Helms, and Rev. Audie Mccuistion officiating. Burial of cremains, with military honors, will be at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy (Spain) Gibson; three daughters, Christine Albert and husband Pascal of Allemagne-en-Provence, France, Lawanna Moon and husband Rick of Van Buren, and Penny Stovall and husband Billy of Paris; three sisters, Della Cummings and husband Jack of Texas, Patsy Scagner of Nevada, and Martha Chisolm of California; one brother, Norman Gibson and wife Cookie of California; (9) grandchildren and (19) great-grandchildren.
