Obituary

Mr. Marvin Lynden Core resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born November 20, 1923 in Paris to the late Hugh A. Core and Maude (Wehunt) Core. He was 86 years old.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jewel Core and one granddaughter, Kimberly Core.

Marvin retired from General Dynamics in San Diego, California, was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston.

The body was cremated under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26th, at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. Craig West officiating. Cremains will be interred at El Camino Cemetery in San Diego, California.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Core of the home; one daughter, Sandra Poe of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Steven Core of Charleston and Dennis Core & wife Marcia of Grant City, Missouri; two brothers, Bob Core & wife Dottie of Paris and Larry Core & wife Diana of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Faye McCoy of Fort Worth, Texas and Norma Rohr of Robinsonville, Mississippi; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
