Marion Louis Waggoner, Sr., who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born May 6, 1940 in Franklin County to the late Isaac H. Waggoner and Amie O. (Corbell) Waggoner. He was 74 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lee (Moody) Waggoner; his brothers, J. I. Waggoner, Donald Waggoner, Marvin Waggoner and Hershel Waggoner.
Marion was a self-employed drywall contractor. He was a retired truck driver for Tyson Foods and he was a cattleman. Marion loved raising Brahman cattle and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 22nd, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Zolan Jetton officiating. Burial will be at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Lemons and husband Jesse L. of Bennet, Nebraska; his son, Marion L. Waggoner, Jr. and wife Juanita of Charleston; four sisters, Dorothy Raney of Fort Smith, Zada Freeman and husband Bill of Coweta, Oklahoma, Thelma Akin and husband Roy of Van Buren, and Sue Jetton and husband Zolan of Charleston; his grandchildren, Jesse Wayne Lemons and wife Beth, Jennifer Hougbenou and husband Christophe, Dalton, Hailey and Devan Waggoner; and his great-grandchildren, Tylor, Alexis, Noah, Jesse Titus and Benjamin Lemons.
Pallbearers will be Marion L. Waggoner, Jr., Dalton Waggoner, Robert White, Morris Brown, Jesse Lemons and Braxton Ketter.
Family will visit with friends 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Charleston.
