Obituary

Marion M. Kessler, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. She was born on April 10, 1934, in Richmond Hill, New York, to the late August V. Schrempp and Nora C. (Englert) Schrempp. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman A. Kessler; a son, Kenneth Kessler; and a sister, Nora Palarino.

Marion was married to Herman Kessler on May 17, 1953, at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church in Elmont, New York. She was a former long time resident of Pine Bush, New York. Marion was the steadfast caregiver of many loved ones over the years. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, listening to music, gardening, playing games, such as dominoes, skipbo, and double solitaire.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2nd at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Ratcliff. Rosary services will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral mass services, with Deacon Kenny Stengel and Father Norman McFall officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by a son, Karl Kessler and wife Gloria of Pine Bush, New York; two granddaughters, Mckenzie Kessler of Pine Bush and Sarah Kessler and fiancé Brendan of Ayer, Massachusetts; three nieces, Valerie Fitch and husband Mark of Fort Smith, Christie Mahl and husband Mike of Branch, and Mary Palarino and Cynthia of Seattle, Washington; a nephew, Dan Palarino and Tammy of Branch; a brother-in-law, Walter Kessler of Loganville, Georgia. She is further survived by her caregivers, aka Marion's Angels, Lisa Green and husband Evan, Deleen Bradford and husband Rick, Natalie Foster and husband Chris, Jan Wurst and husband Ronnie, Alaina Morris and husband Derek, and Shawna Stengal and husband Aaron.

Pallbearers are Danny Palarino, Mike Mahl, Mark Fitch, Connor Palarino, Dalton Palarino, Derek Bailey and Josh Fritsche.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Marion's Angels along with her beloved nieces Valerie and Christie, for their wonderful loving care of Marion and the support they provided her family over these last several years. Many thanks to the staff at Mercy Hospital ER and ICU for the attentive care they gave Marion during her short stay.
