Marea Sutherland, who resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, February 27, 2017 in Charleston, Arkansas. She was born September 3, 1917, near the Union Community, north of Lavaca, to the late J. G. "Pomp" and Sally (Floyd) Williams. She was 99 years old. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Sutherland; four half-brothers; four brothers and three sisters.
Marea was a homemaker and member of West-Ark Church of Christ in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1st at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, north of Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by two daughters, Sedalia Douglas of Lavaca, and Jo Krallman and husband Eddie of Benton, Arkansas; one son, James Sutherland and wife Ruby of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Thomas and Brent Douglas, Brenda (Greg) Wewers, Wayne and Bill Krallman, Mandy Smith, Brandy (Jared) Simmons and Daniel Fantinel; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Douglas, Brent Douglas, Wayne Krallman, Bill Krallman, Daniel Fantinel, Greg Wewers and James Dunn.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, February 28th at the funeral home in Charleston.
