Louis Ray Smith of Central City, Arkansas, died on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was born on November 30, 1945, in Fort Smith to the late John D. Smith and Algie Nell (Shipman) Smith. He was 77 years old. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Smith.

Louis was a retired utility serviceman at Whirlpool, Inc. in Fort Smith for 43 years, and served in the U.S. Navy.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Paul Seay officiating. Burial will follow at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Spencer and husband Jason of Charleston; his sister, Betty Williams of Greenwood; his brother, John Smith and wife Pat of Fort Smith; one grandson, Justin Goff of Charleston; and five nieces, Jonella Graham, Tammy Conrow, Lynnetta Penson, Penny Smith, and Tina Biggs.

Pallbearers are Justin Goff, Jason Spencer, Lucas Conrow, Michael Conrow, Travis Penson, and Roger Schmidt.

The family will visit with friends on Friday, December 9th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
