Loretha Brown, who resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on March 27, 1931, in Live Oak, California, to the late John Webster Allison and Ethel (Bibb) Allison. She was 94 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Joe Brown; a daughter, Patti Crosson; two sons, Jacky Joe Brown and Ricky Lee Brown; four sisters; six brothers; a grandson, Rickey Brown, Jr; and a great great grandson, Micheal Boesen.
For several years, Loretha worked as a presser for a dry cleaners. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts, and being with her family. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 28th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Josh Tumbleson officiating. Burial will follow at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by a son, Ken Brown and wife Connie of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Kenneth Brown, Jr and wife Katie, LaRhonda Boesen and husband Gary; Penny Douglas and companion Billy Souza; Tamara Schurer; and Rebecca; seven great-grandchildren, Jason Boesen, Andrew Boesen, Kenneth Brown, III and wife Lou, Kaylene Hunt and husband Andrew, Kenny Douglas and wife Karrah, Thys Schurer, and Austin Schurer and wife Bell; and nine great-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Jack Brown, Everett Brown, Danlei Brown, Anthony Hunt, Evan Hunt, Adalyn Hunt, Kennedy Douglas, and Kinley Douglas.
Pallbearers are Billy Souza, Andrew Hunt, Kenny Douglas, Austin Schurer, Anthony Hunt, and Evan Hunt.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
