Obituary

Linda Alyne Hunter Carter, who resided in Charleston, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Mercy Hospital, Fort Smith. She was born February 7, 1948, in Fort Smith, to the late George L. and Iona A. Best Hunter. She was 71 years old.

Linda was a former employee at Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith. She also worked as a waitress at several restaurants in the area. She was a truck driver, and a member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial of cremains will be at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Burkett and husband John of Van Buren; two sons, Mike Tobey and wife Anita of Huntsville and Steve Tobey and wife Kim of Charleston; a sister, Barbara Meyer and husband Leon of Fort Smith; (11) grandchildren and (11) great-grandchildren.
