Lewis Earl Griffith, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, in Barling, Arkansas. He was born April 16, 1940, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Leonard E. Griffith and Nellie Naomi (Harris) Griffith. He was 76 years old.
Lewis was a bookkeeper for McConnell Construction Company in Charleston for many years and he was a maintenance planning analyst for International Paper Company in Camden, Arkansas. Lewis was a 1958 graduate of Charleston High School and he was a member of Union Baptist Church near Lavaca.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Curtis Smithson officiating. His body will be cremated following the service. All arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Norma (Adams) Griffith; one daughter, Jean Duffy and husband Tom of Lizton, Indiana; one son, Paul Griffith and wife Lisa of Sachse, Texas; two step-sons, Ben Myers of Colorado and Jeff Myers of Texas; two grandchildren, Haley Duffy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ryan Duffy of Lizton, Indiana.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Gartner, Donald Cook, Jack Masterson, Lee Mabry, Bob Ralston, and John Law.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charleston High School Class of 1958 and Nurse's and CNA's of Ashton Place Health & Rehab of Barling.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
