Leonard Earl Dupont

Leonard Earl Dupont of Booneville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on October 26, 1941, in Port Arthur, Texas, to the late Earl Joseph Dupont and Lois Rita Picou. He would have been 85 years old in a couple of weeks. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tracy Leonard; and a grandson, Christopher.

For 44 years, Leonard worked in the oilfields as an oilfield machinist. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and was a member of Cherokee Creek Golf Course in Booneville.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia (Davis) Dupont; three daughters, Stephanie Duhon, Tammy Bergau and Sonya Vineyard and husband Robert; a son, Joseph Earl Dupont; a sister, Jeanie; three brothers, Mike Doucet, Roy Doucet and Eddie Picou; (14) grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
