Laura Ruth Grooms, who resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Sunday, October 11, 2020, in Fort Smith. She was born October 16, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late James France Neveau and Ruth Laura (Freapane) Neveau. She was almost 58 years old.

She is survived by her children, Michael Grooms and John Paul Grooms, III, both of Fort Smith and Ruthie Grooms of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; her sisters, Bernadette Neveau of Hammond, Indiana, Mary Mercado of Fort Worth, Texas, Colleen Owens of Midlothian, Illinois, and Michelle Zebos of Park Ridge, Illinois; a brother, James Neveau of Hammond, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kelso, Josy and Bella.
