Larry Gene "Lurch" Gattis, who resided in Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Clarksville, Arkansas. He was born October 30, 1949 to the late Roy D. Gattis and Ruby Jewel (Lowery) Gattis. He was 65 years old. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Michael Gattis, Debbie Gattis, Jimmy Gattis and Irba Thompson.
Larry was retired and of protestant faith.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Prairie View Cemetery near Scranton under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Kenny Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie; one step-daughter, Katie Miranda of Hartman, Arkansas; four sisters, Carolyn Wewer, Judy Wewer, Brenda Ahne and Tammy Baumgartner all of Scranton; four brothers, Harlan Gattis of Paris, Arkansas, Ray Gattis of Wichita, KS, John Gattis and Willie Gattis both of Scranton; three grandchildren and his favorite dogs, Butter and Annie.
Pallbearers will be Bob Snow, Gary Varnell, Ronnie Fleming, Dennis Terry, Herman Yarborough, Zack Berry, Jimbo Thompson, Keith Kilburn, Jason Gattis and John Gattis.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
