Larry Carter Carson, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born December 10, 1943, in Fort Smith to the late Jay Carson and Imo (Sweeden) Carson. He was 73 years old. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Carson.
Larry was a retired purchasing agent for J&B Supply Company in Fort Smith. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston. Larry was an avid deer hunter, and loved camping and going to his cabin. He enjoyed umpiring softball games and refereeing basketball and football games.
Rosary service will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22nd, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Mark Verkamp officiating.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 23rd, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston, with Father Patrick Watikha, AJ officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Agnes (Minden) Carson; one daughter, Cindy Savage and husband Philip of Charleston; one son, Mike Locknar and wife Janice of Fort Smith; one brother, Don Carson of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Sabrina Toplikar and husband Ben, Stefan Savage, Eric Locknar, Brandon Locknar, and Garrett Locknar; one great-granddaughter, Scarlett Toplikar.
Pallbearers will be Danny Robins, Don Bagley, Ken Dillard, Steve Fisher, Jack Soller, and Jim West.
