Lana Marie Irelan, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born November 21, 1956, in Springer, New Mexico to the late Donald Owen Pennington, Sr. and Mary Louise (Colley) Pennington. She was 61 years old. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Owen Pennington, Jr.
Lana was a 1975 graduate of County Line High School. She was a homemaker and she was a member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 12th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Joe Donahue officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 p.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne Irelan, Jr.; one daughter, Heather Lasiter of Lavaca; two sons, Wayne Irelan, Jr. III and wife Sarah of Charleston and Donnie Irelan and wife Sarah of Poteau, Oklahoma; two sisters, Donna Doney and husband Craig of Kansas City, Kansas and Brenda Oviatt and husband Dee of Des Moines, Iowa; three brothers, David Pennington and wife Wanda of Combs, Arkansas, Michael Pennington and wife Amy of Springdale, and Matt Pennington of Northwest, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne, Donnie, and Austin Irelan, Michael and David Pennington, John Johnson, and James Lewis.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
