Obituary

Kenneth Wayne King of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his home. He was born on January 2, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Frederick Arthur King and Arleta Ann (Herrenbruck) King. He was 76 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary King.

Kenny worked in the restaurant business for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith.

A private memorial graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Cremation Services in Fort Smith. Officiating the service will be Father Bill Elser.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane (Polk) King; two daughters, Andrea Alvarado and husband Alberto and Kristen Eckelhoff and husband Todd, all of Fort Smith; a son, Brandon King and wife Emily of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, Tyler Eckelhoff, Jaxson King, Luke Williams, Abigail Williams, Alexandra Matlock, Caroline Eckelhoff, Lucy Eckelhoff, and Henry King.
