Kayla Jo Cossey of Sherwood, Arkansas, died Friday, February 24, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on September 2, 1966, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Billy Joe Cook and Jane Ann (Floyd) Cook. She was 56 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Jana Lynn Cook.

Kayla worked in the library at UALR. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from UCA in Conway and was a member of the Chickamauga Tribe. Kayla was an avid animal lover, and had a special love for her horses. Kayla was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 27th at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, located near Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jimmy Holloway.

She is survived by her husband of almost 13 years, Roger Dale Cossey; three daughters, Caytrin Swoape and husband Terrance Smith of Oregon, and Ashley Swoape and Samantha Swoape, both of Tennessee; three step-sons, Jaydon Cossey and Tyler Cossey and wife Kasandra, both of North Little Rock, and Chaston Cossey and wife Robin of Cabot; a brother, Daniel Cook and wife Debra of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Adalee, Flynn, Everley and Madeline.
