Karl James Menard of Lavaca, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on December 9, 1956, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the late Tilben Menard and Mary L. Royer. He was 66 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and a nephew, Billy Menard.

Karl was an amazing carpenter by trade. He was employed by Wolf Creek Construction Company in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Higginbotham) Menard; three daughters, Karla Broussard and husband Aaron, Bethanie Matthieu and special friend Irene Figueroa, and Kortnie Matthieu; one step-son, Joshua (Tiffany) Royer; a brother, Gregory Menard; two sisters, Phyllis Doucet and husband Dale and Cynthia Menard and CJ Albert; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and three step- great-grandchildren; one god child, Annette Prejean; and a host of family and friends.

All services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 13th at the funeral home in Charleston.
